In his only Florida appearance, iconic filmmaker, writer, producer, actor, and stand-up comedian John Waters brings his dazzling, risqué one-man show, “This Filthy World,” to Parker Playhouse.
There aren’t many individuals who can put their name on a resume which embodies a canon of continuous, seminal works which span over forty years and encompass nearly every role of film making: writer, director, producer, photographer and actor, but John Waters can. Bearing no shame in bringing the most taboo realms of the human imagination to the big screen in shockingly humorous and often explicit depictions of aspects of everyday life, Waters’ genius creations include such over-the-top classics as ‘Hairspray,’ ‘Pink Flamingos,’ ‘Pecker,’ ‘Cry Baby’ & ‘Cecil B. Demented.’
We are proud to now have the opportunity to cordially invite you to experience Waters’ most current quintessential production, ‘This Filthy World,’ in his only Florida performance. This extraordinary engagement will be preceded by a screening of his classic film ‘Polyester’ as well as a montage and commemoration ceremony, followed by a Q&A session with Mr. Waters.
